“My ‘da says I shouldn’t trust you.” She said calmly legs dangling in the air as she looked down at the talking head. “He’s told me your story.”

The man scoffed. “He’s told you his side of the story.”

“So you didn’t threaten to bite him to death?”

“Of course I fucking did. Damn asshole has me buried in a hole without a body; you know how much that sucks, girl?

“Probably a lot, but it gives me more reason not to trust you.”

“I won’t fucking kill YOU.”

She shrugged. “You know, contrary to popular belief I don’t hate my dad. And I would hate it if he died.”

The head rolled its eyes. “You’re not letting me out are you?”

“Nope.”

“Fucking bitch.”

She stood up. “But if you don’t stop calling me bitch, I’ll stop visiting you.”

Hidan growled.

——————————————————————

There was something seriously wrong with him. Of that, Hidan was perfectly aware.

She was a stupid girl.

That’s it.

He was going to hell.

——————————————————————

She was licking a lollipop staring idly up at the clouds. Hidan strongly desires to take that lollipop and smack her upside the head with it. Of course he had no body, so such a feat was difficult.

“Who’s Jashin?”

“W-what?”

“You’re always talking about some Jashin, who’s that?”

————————————————————————-

“My ‘da says-”

My ‘da says.” Hidan mimicked. “Do you ALWAYS do what your dad says?”

She scowled, her little face turning pink. “No.”

“Then prove it.”

“I am not letting you out of your hole.”

——————————————————————————

“YOU CAN’T!” she screamed at him. “DON’T! PLEASE!”

Hidan hesitated. Why he couldn’t be sure, but he hesitated.

Her pretty little green eyes were pleading with him. “He’s my ‘da. He’s the only thing I’ve got in the world now.”

He licked his lips. He wanted to kill that bastard. It was that bastard’s fault he’d been stuck in a hole for YEARS. IT was that bastard’s fault he – he… “You don’t need him.”

Water spilled from her eyes. “Hidan, please.”

“I can take his place.”

The small girl shook. “Don’t make me, Hidan. Please don’t kill him.”

“Make you what?”

Her gaze didn’t stray and her demeanor strengthened. “If you kill my ‘da, I will hurt you. I will make what he did to you seem lenient.”

“You wouldn’t, fawn. You couldn’t.”

“I’ve spent time with you, Hidan, you know I could. And you know I would.”

—————————————————————————–

“What’s an akatsuki?”

His eyes bugged. “What’s a – what the hell kind of world are you living in, you bi-twit.” He finished lamely.

Twit, really, he actually listened to her.

She shrugged.

“Really, really powerful, bad-ass ninja.”

“Uncle Kankurou says they’re a bunch of evil, soulless, jackasses that were luckily eradicated.”

“Now, jackasses we may have been, but I’m sure all those fuckers had souls…”

—————————————————————————-

Her hands were shaking, but there was an angry fire in her eyes, he’d never really seen. To him she had always been a harmless little puppy. A pet. Blood spilled across her clothes, her hands; she was a violent, sinister little thing. Jashin, she was beautiful.

“Fucking bitch.” He hissed.

“D-Don’t call me bitch.”

“YOU DECAPITATED ME!”

She knelt down and picked up his head by the white strands of hair. “Damn straight. Don’t you EVER do this shit to my village again, you understand, you little fucker!”

He glowered. “How can I? I have no damn body.”

“I should let the crows pick out your eyes, you mother-fucker.”

“You won’t?”

“Who the fuck knows.”

———————————————————————————-

She licked her lips. “You’ve seriously fucked me up, you know that?”

Hidan grinned at her.

“I should’ve listened to my ‘da.”

“Glad you didn’t, little deer.”

——————————————————————————–

She had just taken someone’s life. She stabbed herself and killed another. And the pain, oh-kami, the pain was terrible. But…it felt good. In a weird, twisted, hopelessly sick way it had felt good. Really good.

——————————————————————————-

“And what is it you have to say? What could you possibly say?”

His gaze was cold and harsh. She’d never seen him look that way. She had her head raised defiantly as she always had; reaching into her pocket her fingers bumped across the cool metal of the head bands. She pulled them out gingerly and dropped them on the Hokage’s desk.  Four head bands. “There are no words to excuse what I have done. I am sorry and I will accept any punishment you see me fit to deserve.”

———————————————————————–

Traitor. Traitor. Traitor. That’s what they called her now. Traitor. Traitor. Traitor. She was. A horrible, despicable, terrible traitor.

There were days she couldn’t help but cry.

———————————————————————

A shrug. “So?”

Her lips twisted into an expression of shock. “So? You don’t care?”

“Yo, babe. You realized your mistake and you’re over it now. Done deal. Why dwell.”

“You’re rather odd.”

He shrugged. “Meh. So are you.”

“You remind me of my ‘da.”

“He’s not REALLY your dad is he?” He yawned.

“Biologically, no. But as far as I’m concerned he’s my ‘da.”

—————————————————————————-

“I could almost swear they remind me EXACTLY of you and Temari.” Kankurou grumbled at him.

“Which is exactly what worries me.”

The puppeteer raised an eyebrow. “So you’re saying, years ago, when Gaara and I grilled you and Temari, and were persuaded to decide there was nothing to worry about, there really was something to worry about?”

Oh yeah.”

“I should kill you.”

“You’re twenty years too late.”
